Virtual drop-in sessions start this week for parents and carers in the East Riding

The aim is to create a safe space for parents and also to allow them to access advice and information if they have concerns about issues including sexual and criminal exploitation, including County Lines activity. Phone appointments will also be available.

Helen Jones-Brown, contextual safeguarding advisor at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “It might be that you are worried around issues within your local community that you feel need to be resolved and you are unsure of who to contact.

“These drop-in sessions will provide the support you need to reassure you that agencies are here to help.

“We would like to invite parents and carers in the East Riding to help us create a forum where you can connect with other parents with the aim of creating a safe online platform and peer support..

“For those who don’t feel confident with technology or this method of connecting, there are telephone slots available too.”

The first drop-in will be held on Tuesday 2 June at 11am, with another session at 7pm that evening.

Further sessions will be held at 11am and 7pm on Tuesday 16 June, Tuesday 14 July and Tuesday 28 July.
