The East Riding of Yorkshire and Kingston upon Hull joint local access forum is a statutory advisory forum administered by the council in partnership with Hull City Council.
The forum is one of approximately 80 local access forums across the country and their main role is to provide independent and constructive advice about making improvements to public access for outdoor recreation and sustainable travel.
Most of the forum members are volunteers and bring knowledge and expertise from a broad range of different countryside and recreational interests (e.g. walking, cycling, horse riding, land management, tourism). Meetings of the joint local access forum are held in public on a quarterly basis and advertised in advance.
The council's role includes the recruitment and training of forum members, organising meetings , supporting delivery of the forum's work and producing an annual report that is forwarded to local, regional and national contacts.
