Freedom Activity Support Payment (FASP)

We can confirm that the Freedom Activity Support Payment will be offered again this year to children meeting the required criteria.
Applications will be accepted for FASP from 3 April 2019 to 30 June 2019.

Any applications received after that date will not be considered.
Please note: The final decision as to eligibility rests with the FASP Team.

FASP is a one off, personal budget of up to £400 which may be available to families living in the East Riding to support a disabled child/young person who’s special educational needs/ disabilities (SEND) prevents them from accessing age appropriate social and leisure activities. It is really up to the families how the money is used but it must be to enable their child to access age appropriate social and leisure activities.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for FASP the child/ young person must be unable to access age appropriate social and leisure activities due to their disabilities and/or complex health needs, including learning and/or physical disabilities, significant social and communication difficulties or significant sensory impairments and be:

  • living in the East Riding
  • registered on Look Ahead
  • aged between 7 and 17 years at the time of the application
  • in receipt of a Statement of Special Educational Needs/EHC Plan
  • not be receiving any Local Authority specialist packages of support for example: a Social Care package, overnight residential support or direct payments.

Payment information

The payment will be made in two installments, the first being £240, and the second payment of £160 will only be released on receipt of a completed monitoring form.
