Description

COVID-19 SERVICE UPDATE

Matthew's Enterprise provides training opportunities and empowerment of students in a practical working farm environment. Practical Work includes animal care, metal work, wood work and horticulture.

We are Matthews Enterprise, we are a day service that provides activities for adults with special needs, we are based in Preston, East riding. At this present time, we cannot provide the normal day service to our students, however we do provide Arts and Crafts sessions through Face book and WhatsApp, the sessions take place on a Thursday and times are arranged with the students beforehand.

Students log on to their group each week and we provide a tutor to demonstrate and support the students achieve the outcome of the sessions.

We provide all the materials and packaging and deliver these to student’s homes. We provide four Arts and Crafts activities each month along with directions and easy read instructions.

The sessions are between 40 minutes to 1-hour dependent on the Activity. We also engage our students with virtual walks around the farm with Tutors, students can see the animals and changes that have taken place at the day service.

The outcomes of these sessions are to provide students with activities that requires some elements of preparation, organising, concentration, dexterity, social interaction, inclusion, and achievement. We also find that the students are happy to see the tutors and just having a chat can reassure them we are still here.

The process we have in place is students are referred through their social worker, we provide a student referral book, and this is completed by the social worker so we get all the information of the students needs and how we can best meet these with activities and workshops we provide.

Our Costings based on a full day are £50 if we had referrals for half a day, we would negotiate the costs.

If you require any further information, please contact me on 07950 706585 and I will be happy to discuss any queries.
